At the beginning of every year, Spotify announces a list of top Songs, Artists, Podcasts, and Listening Trends of the previous year. They call it the Spotify Wrapped. It shows what users used to listen to the whole year and who they listened to the most.

For Spotify Wrapped 2023, The platform at the start of this year 2024, published the list of the top 25 podcasts of the year globally by declaring Joe Rogan as the winner.

From 1995 to 1999 the popular podcaster and comedian dominated the radio but now has made his mark in the history of digital streaming. Joe Rogan stays as the undisputed champion, securing the title of being the platform’s No.1 Podcaster by beating the No.2 podcast “Call Her Daddy, and the No.3 Podcast “Huberman Lab”.

Joe Rogan’s podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience” has consistently broken records, and 2023 has proven to be no different. With many different guests, interesting talks, and a touch of humor, Rogan has been the No.1 podcaster for the past 3 years consistently. He has created a digital empire that connects him with millions of listeners worldwide.

On May 19, 2020, Rogan announced his deal with the platform worth an estimated $200 million for three and a half years starting from September 2020. This means the contract will end in 2024 and Joe Rogan might be a free agent in the early or mid of this year.

After his appearance, Spotify shares increased by seven percent. Spotify CFO Paul Vogel himself said that the podcasting business was improving. With so much popularity of the podcaster, Spotify might try to keep Rogan on the platform.

For now, there are no announcements from the podcaster or the platform if they are going to finalize a deal again or not. But with Spotify Wrapped 2023 highlighting Joe Rogan’s success, the future looks promising not only for him but also for the streaming platform if they secure another deal together.
